Title: PCI Graphics card (NOT PCiexpress)
Post by: brenmurph on April 04, 2014, 02:16:45 PM
Anyone got a pci graphics card. I have a great HP server with a zeon processor but graphics card packed up.

Searching for a s/h card just for playing MP4 / AVI videos, not for gaming so 64MB up should be fine 32 may even work.

10 euros offered ( or some gold winning beer ;) )for anyone has one shoved in a box or a drawer somewhere :) that he / she does not want anymore

Xeon! There are RFTs up on publictenders.ie looking for servers with Pentium Zion processors, I know as I know person who put them there.

I'll have a look. It's defo PCI and not AGP?

Aren't they all Zion chips now...considering where they're being made?

Is a Creative GeForce2 MX200 any good to you? It's a bit old but should still work.

not quite.. :)  all I know is the machine is running 7 r 8 years and never crashed once. I accidently damaged the vga connector on the graphics card, the computer is 100% and fast and ultra reliable running xp pro. So Just need a card to keep it goin for another few years.

no gud, its a graphics card, PCI slot, AGP no good, spread the word...I cant believe it so difficult to get a pci card, the server is 2009 ( not that old) and there must be a ton of these cards sitting around gathering dust in drawers and in older pcs fecked in a drawer, garage or attic. Spread the world, I have this mega reliable and fast pc all set up with 7000 mp3's, 1000 videos, my gigajam music software and cant use it.......just need to replace my physically broken pci card. :( to be able to play the videos....20 euros offered.... ;) NHC members..go check ur box of computer bits thats lying around

Free is better, most of us would be throwing these things out or have them stashed in a box somewhere, if at all.....

I just spoke to IT guy, apparently they threw a load of them out last week, I had a look in the recycling cages but they are stuffed with stuff and very hard to dig at the moment. I was unable to find any in the quick look I just had, but IT guy is on the lookout for one for me and will let me know should he come accross one, that's the best I can do for now. If I get a chance to do some digging I'll try, but it looks like they've dumped all the old phones too and the cages are stacked high.

No luck here, rummaging through the "I'll use them sometime" box, only have either a AGP or PCIExpress, afraid no plain PCI.
