Title: where to get a banneton/bread proving basket?

having difficulty finding one in dublin area, any one out there know id find one?

hey guys,
any tips for me for when i tip out dough after second proving to stop it 'deflating' . have it in a home made basket ,well floured tea towel in a bowl. was just worried that it will turn into a pancake once i tip it out >:( >:(

Tip it out very carefully is my advice, what I do is to grab the sides of the basket and in one movement I flip it whilst holding it gently both sides and then slip my hands out from under it. It's not always easy and if you see that loaf above you can see that it's collapsed a bit on top.

If you're going to go banneton then I'd also advise going either sourdough or fresh yeast, dried yeast just won't cut it :)

I found my link for purchasing the breadforms

I first bought a 20cm form but it's simply not large enough so then I got 25cm forms, my advice, get 25cm forms.

They came from China but were here in a week or so.

found out that kitchen compliments in town do the bannetons, €16 ish.  good advice on the size as well. ta


hadnt used any bought yeast , just worked from a starter with natural yeast. worked so far.

OK, Ebay was 16 for two....but you will have that.
