The "South Dublin Brewers" will be conducting their next tasting meet on Thursday 24th in the Dark Horse, Blackrock. Details below...
Location
The Dark Horse, Blackrock, Co. Dublin
Date
Thursday 24th April
Time
8pm
Protocol
- You don't have to have any beer to bring in order to participate! Inexperienced brewers are more than welcome. Even if you're only thinking about brewing your own, come along our friendly crowd will answer any questions you might have.
- If you have some brews for tasting, please bring along 500ml of each.
- To show some thanks to our hosts for allowing us to drink home-brewed beers in their pub, it is customary to buy some drinks from the house. The Dark Horse boasts an extensive range of craft beers and also has an excellent off-license.
- Please sign-up below if you'd like to attend - that way you will be notified of any cancellations or other changes.

Sounds good.

Just popped into the Dark Horse to check that we have one of our usual tables reserved. All sorted there.
Just fyi, they have a keg of Jaipur on at the moment, and I intend liberating a fair portion of it tomorrow evening. On second thoughts, feck the homebrew... let's just go along and drink the Jaipur all night.. >:D The only downside is, it ain't cheap... :(
On the plus side, they're also selling bottles of Jaipur in the off for €4! I've seen this selling for as much as €5.50 in other bottle shops.
Dave, I'm currently sipping a glass of Bigfoot, just to align my tastebuds for your clone tomorrow. That's how seriously I take this stuff... ;) ;) ;) ;) ;D ;D ;D

Jaz nearly missed this. Luckily saw Bubbles comment on Filling the Barrel thread about discussing tomorrow night. Will update on my barrel contribution then also.

You're always very welcome dude. That Galway Bay barrel-aged stout you got for me did me in! Or maybe it was all the Jaipur. Good job it was so expensive or I'd have been in an even worse state.
Beer of the evening for me was John's Mild/Brown Porter. Shanna's scotch ale was a very tasty drop too. Pissed myself laughing last night hearing about the special ingredient! ;D >:D
What price for the jaipur :)
Jesus, you're going to love this.......
€5.50...... for a 33cl glass.
Yeah, I know... but it's such a lovely beer.
The Dark Horse offy sells it for €4 though.

WHAT €11 a pint this is taking the piss it is a great beer but there is no way this should be so. LH now charge €6.90 for a bottle 500ml and we have sort of held back. Not sure who but someone is just doing a celtic tiger attitude to craft beers >:(
is the offy bottle 500ml

Yeah, it's a bit of a joke alright. Unfortunately that seems to be the way things are going. The manager in the DH told me that it's Brewdog who have put their prices up lately. A pint of Punk IPA is now €6.85. I mean, it's feckin laughable. It's the final straw for me and I'm now on a Brewdog boycott, apart from trying the occasional special release. There's enough reasonably priced Irish craft beer available now so we don't have to put up this kind of nonsense. For instance, the AmberElla I had tonight is a really nice drop, and not a million miles from 5am Saint imo.
Yep, it's the regular 500ml bottle from Thornbridge.
