Just a note to those that don't know but Not all competitions need to be BJCP registered. This is a simple process but not necessary to run a competition. It may be favourable to do so but the TBC shouldn't matter. If it's on it's on!

GCB Red Ale Comp now Registered with BJCP and confirmed as 23rd of August, mods please amend above.
It would be good if the above sticky also had a closing and perhaps opening date listed for entries and a link to the thread with the competition details.

Hey CH, do me a favour please and post the link I'll add it to the sticky, I don't have time now to go looking for the referred to link as I'm not up to speed on the competition, thanks.

Also any dates you might have, as said, I'm not up to speed.

?
e.g. if you want a date(s) put in the sticky, post the date on here. (No need to then report the post)
Misunderstood you!

I thought you wanted to keep this thread "clean" and for us to post on another!

advanced notification to give people a change to brew
we are thinking of doing a winter warmer competition, dark rich beer that will keep you warm in front of the fire on those cold winter nights, towards the end of the year (oct/nov) . probably the same format as the summer comp

Just noticed that the NCB comp says open to all it should be NHC+Beoir members.

It does say that in the linkyed thread.

Can someone update the sticky please?

Awesome alignment of the brewing planets noticed:

Mercury: For Heat
Mars: For rich red malts and roastiness
Earth: The blue planet - Water
Jupiter: The Gas planet for CO2 and Mixed!
...
Uranus: Need we say more about this planet!!

Ok you get the gist!

PLUS: Its my Birthday so lookout here comes the Welshgit and just a year older!

Im coming at it from a hangover point of view rather than b&b cost. The comp has to be over by 7.30pm latest. Anyone who travels down & cant stay down can bus it back on gobus or city link (18.45 is the last bus) or train is at 19.20 to Dublin. We can try have the BOS done before last busses.

This should be good, gonna be tough on the judges though! Will it just be IPAs or are Doubles allowed too?

Its only tough/tight if traveling judges come up & down same day. Id be hoping people would stick around & go for pints after tbh. Looking to get some local pro brewers to judge so the need for traveling judges will be kept to a minimum. If anyone thats done the bjcp course would like to judge please get in touch.
