Title: BIAB set up in Ireland
Post by: duffstuff on April 25, 2014, 04:03:14 AM
Hi all,
I just came across this forum and have a few questions about getting a set up going in Ireland. I currently brew 5 gallon.( sorry for use of gallons) batches on a stovetop  BIAB set up in Korea. ill be moving home this summer and realized I know little of how you are all brewing back home. my system here is a 10 gallon SS pot, brew bag and gas stove ( double burner) . Is there anyone using this type of setup back home?
i have no experience with plastic and using elements. Any hints, tips or recommendations welcome. I would like to continue to brew the same way as I have nailed down a pretty solid process here. Thanks in advance for any opinions and advice.  Any Mayo brewers out there?
Looking forward to getting going.
cheers
Duff

Hey Duff,

I use a similar set-up but rather than a stove I a gas burner (http://www.gasproducts.ie/acatalog/Large_Square_Gas_Boiling_Ring.html) which is very reasonably priced and they also supply whatever fittings you need - seach the forum here for Gas Burner as there has been some very good debate on it. Eoin on the site here as a company custombiab which makes the BIAB bags that are great quality too.

Best of luck with the move home and welcome to the site

I got a 50L pot from THBC (https://www.thehomebrewcompany.ie/50l-stainless-steel-stock-pot-p-1947.html) after dropping hints and links to the wife at Christmas (there's a 5% discount if you are a member of the club so well worth the €10 membership before you start recreating your system). Pot works great for me and I got the bag custom made my Eoin's wife through custombiab to fit the pot perfectly. Others on here have gotten them shipped from Germany and various other places - a quick search on the forum should throw up a link or two.

Im originally from Kildare and I see they have a few clubs there but I will be based in Mayo for the summer. Achill Island to be specific. . Ill spread the good word on the island when I can. . I started a group here in Korea last year and we have 40 active brewers. If I can get a few people interested on the Island I will try start a new club there . anayone know any brewers in that area?
