Title: Torrified wheat
Post by: Chris on May 02, 2014, 10:34:36 PM
About 12 months ago I bought a kilo of torrified wheat purely because it was on special offer. I knew nothing about it or how to use it. I have since used it in a mash, steeped in an extract, steeped as a kit addition. I have found that it changes the head completely making it much creamier and increasing retention greatly. I normally use around 200g ANSI crush it before use. Any one else tried it?

I use much less of it, but use it in every brew.

Is great for head retention but only use approx 3% in the mash unless of course are making a wheat style beer.

You can make some by saying "boo!" to some wheat in Blackrock
