Title: Resurection - Easy
Post by: Will_D on May 08, 2014, 07:56:28 PM
Its not just Easter you know!

Needed some US-05.

Checked the bank: Hmm Only 1 candidate: banked 10th Jan last year.

So why not see what happens:

Pitched the vial (had about 1/3rd of heavy yeast into my secret "Lazarus" starter wort.

36 hours later:

Job done! Smells good Another day or two and we will be in business!

Well done Tom - +++ for observayion! You win a vial of the yeast in the future!

That is a Karmeleit Trippel yeast from a bottle someone gave me! (Forget who but if you recognise the gift let me know)

As always when I drink an interesting beer I look to see what's at the bottom of the bottle. If I see sediments then its "Culture Time"

"Crystal Meth"

Well maybe, If I tell you I must shoot you but Ok as its you, Dandelion wine.

Its just as well I didn't use wide angle as there are a lot of "things" in the fermetorium at the mo.

At last I got a beer on the go as well!

Update:

So after the growth phase time for the separation phase:

Into a long thin separating tube:

As I was using a stout trub it was easy to see that the dead yeasts settled out first ( as not CO2 respiration to keep them afloat) so the into the fridge for a good settle and then pour off the top liquid, take out 3 x 50 ml vials and then jpb done!
