I've searched like a newcomer and reached the conclusion that we need a "How To.." Section for beginners and those moving from simpler forms of brewing. There's plenty of "Review" type threads but nothing like an "Idiots Guide to Making Beer from....".
Recipes etc., are great for those who understand the language, terminology and processes but newbies are completely lost. We need to encourage, foster and educate new brewers and those who are just thinking about brewing at home.
Many forums treat newbies as a nuisance to be hassled and ridiculed and do nothing to help them. That means lost members because they just go elsewhere. Are we better than that?
I do believe LE has written a beginners guide to kit brewing http://www.nationalhomebrewclub.com/forum/index.php?topic=669
Also a guide to kit hacking. And further guides as you progress.
The most basic (idiots?) guide generally comes with the kit.
My first kit (Coopers Canadaian Blonde) was successful just by following this.
Anyone interested in help me write a beginners all grain guide?
