Is that Northern Brown Ale this one? (http://www.nationalhomebrewclub.com/cgi-bin/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1356715096)
I only used the Coopers Dark Ale kit once, with the kit yeast and bog standard 1kg DME and it wasn't very impressive.
I love chocolate malt and hear a lot about the Danstar Nottingham yeast but never used it.
This recipe is now added to my to-do list :)

Yep, that's the one alright.

Turned out a nice tasty drop! I tried one after a week or 2 in the bottle & the chocolate was quite bitter but it mellowed out lovely. And the Nottingham yeast is nice and clean but I prefer US-05.

Well worth brewing (only takes what, about 40mins all in?!). I think I'll do this one again.
