Title: My beer and wine
Post by: nigel_c on May 21, 2014, 04:18:15 PM
Anybody had any dealings with these guys lately? Their website too a change for the better the other day and they are stocking some pretty nice hardware. Some of their stocks are a minimum order which is a bit crap. eg Stainless Steel MPT Female & Male Quick Disconnect
€18 but a min order of 10.

I sent them off an email inquiring about a group buy on them when the pumps land but no reply yet.

The hop ball looks nifty and reckon I'll be picking up a few.

I don't think you'd fit an ounce of hops into one of those... would you?

something like this would be far more suitable (for leaf at least)

I don't think that would fit into a keg. Might be wrong though. That would be the only time id use it. Its not something id go out looking for but if I was ordering some other stuff I'd add one just to have it. Like so many other bits and pieces.
More looking at the nice and shiny bits and pieces that have :)

I've ordered from them before and not had an issue. My last order would have been in feb 2014.

I bought all my 3 piece weldless taps & QD's from them. I wouldnt recommend buying the female quick disconnects. They dont seal. Morebeer invented these afaik & they rejected a batch from their manufacturer for the same reason some time ago. Id bet anything these are the same faulty disconnects. They leak real bad. Great craic leaking hot wort or caustic all over the place. Ive had to swap all my female QDs out for morebeer ones which connect & seal perfectly. The male QDs are fine to buy from them though. No issues with those. Taps & weldless kits are on the money too. Would recommend.

sorry to go slightly off topic but I bought 3 of those "stainless steel" tea infusing balls from aliexpress.com (chinese) and they rusted!  I put the three of them in water as soon as i got them and within a week one started rusting, number 2 and 3 folllowed shortly.

I was just wondering has anybody a reliable and trusted source of buying these stainless steel balls or should I stick to my muslin bags?
I'd rather buy something thats re-usable.

I bought some stuff from MBW last autumn - slightly (1 week) slow but overall very happy. Much better for random kegging bits than HBW and HBC.

The whole site setup changed about a week ago. Have they ever made contact here or been invited to sign up?
