Anyone know if the brewery is still operating?
Not sure but the brewery ::) is to the left of this picture. Heading to north Kerry meself at the weekend. :)
I'll be there too, in Annascaul and Dingle
Heading to Sneem next week, as the father in law has a house there. Used to go to Dingle a lot before, staying in Ballydavid, which was very close to the West Kerry brewery, so supped a good bit of their beer, and what I had was very nice, although Tig Bric didn't have that much atmosphere. Apart from that, I find Dingle very touristy and a lot of the places to eat very average and a bit of a rip off. If you are into seafood, there is a great place on the main street called into the blue, which isn't cheap, but has a great selection and quality seafood
Only being going to Sneem for the last year or so, and while it is touristy, there is still decent value to be had, and easy to get talking to the locals in the pub. Free accommodation also really swings it!
Into the Blue is lovely. The Goat Street Cafe is also quite nice but a bit pricey. The Dingle Brewing Company is worth a visit also. They have a decent selection of antiques and photos etc. which you can see on a tour. They're down near the old creamery site to the north of the town.
Tig Bhric is very very hit and miss but I keep going back to try to support them. Often they don't have any of their beers on tap but their off license usually has some Adnam's beers so you can still get a decent drink there. It's in such a great location that you could use Slea Head as an excuse to drop by.

Our man in the know tells us the current batch of blonde rivals Cantillon's finest, if somewhat intentionally.
I've sampled more than one infected batch there. Consistent they are not, but they're also not predictable ;D
They brew in a metal shed. Last summer the heat was apparently crazy and a lot of beer was off.
Yea, I've been in there. It's a dinky little setup, but actually less sophisticated than a lot of homebrew setups I've seen. They'd be jealous of your whirlpool chiller system Rossa!
We are being to kind here with our comments because we are nice people :P
I had mixed feelings about Tigh Bhric. I hope Tigh Ui Cathain is still doing the West Kerry Diesel.
Mind if it really tastes like Cantillon's finest it'll save stocking up at great expense in Bradley's before heading down.
Stop telling the secrets >:(
I was in the whiskey bar upstairs in the palace when I had that bottle by the way
Had the Riasc (new blonde) in An Canteen this evening. Pretty drinkable, not acetic or off in any way. Even has Cascade in it! So I tried the others as well, all nicely estery and far better than expected based on past form.
Picked up a case of the Riasc from the brewery yesterday - v. soft and estery for a pale ale but a very nice beer with no bad stuff going on.
