It's not essential but it seems like it would make things a lot handier. I'm planning to get one in my next order anyway.

If I had to choose between the rinser and the tree, I'd get the rinser.

I got a tree first and it speeded up bottling a lot. I then got a rinser and again  massive time saving. Get  both you won't regret it

What makes the rinser quicker than a spray bottle with sanitizer in it?

Single handed operation.

With rinser and tree it takes under 5 minutes to sanitize 40 bottles

Single handed operation.
...means you can use your mouse with your spare hand.  >:D

Deffo agree with that. Bottled 2 18 liter batches tonight 2 people in a little over an  hour.

I got a rinser and use the dish washer as the tree to drain the bottles and I've never looked back.

I think I blast each bottle too much though - it's one of those plunger rincers, so each bottle gets 3-4 plunges, so taking a bit longer than 5 mins for me. Maybe I can cut that down a bit...

3-4 plunges sound about right. Lots of wetted area and foam to get left behind and slowly drain out on the bottle tree! :). Another positive of a lot of pumping :P is that it generates a head of foam in the rinser into which the bottle neck is repeatedly dipped sanning the bottle cap area  ;D

One pump, each bottle. Lash through them in minutes

Top Tip: Dip the neck of the bottle in the solution - especially if its a swingtop (Immerse Ceram+Seal)

3-4 pumps? Madness!  :D  1 pump is all you need (she says). We do 1800 bottles per bottling day in the brewery here. All with the same rinsers & bottle trees from HBW. I drilled holes in the base of the rinsers so starsan can flow in & fill them (they sit in buckets of starsan). They dont need to be filled up as much then as the starsan stays pretty much the same level in the bucket & rinser most of the day. One rinser for each hand. 2 bottles rinsed & racked every four seconds. Filling the rack from the top down (keeps the outside of the bottles dry) Too much info there probably but thats how we do it.

It's posts like this that makes me come on here every day :) One last question on that - you use Starsan as the sanatiser, whereas I'm using Chemi Pro at the moment. Do you think it would make much of a difference?

Thinking I'll pick up some Starsan once all my existing sanatiser runs out...

Chemi pro & starsan are similar I think? So either is fine. Some on here use thin bleach & vinegar mix too.

Star-san is no rinse :)

Not sure about Chemipro

Would not class bleach/vinegar as no rinse !!

Is it necessary to drain for long after using starsan? i know it says no rinse but has anyone had any bad results with out leaving to drain for long.

My dilemma for the next order is to get a table top capper or draining tree.

No problems filling straight after using it, Starsan foam breaks down into something yeast metabolises, from what I remember.
