Just a quick note to let you know the Annual fundraiser for St Francis Hospice is coming up in Malahide on Friday 13th June. You are more than welcome to come along – if you can't make it – maybe you 'll buy a couple of raffle tickets instead. Most of you know the drill from last time, not a whole lot changing. The poker is great craic and generally not taken too seriously – that said there will be cash prizes for the top 3 and prizes for all the players on the final table.
Last year round we all raised around €2000, probably won't do that this time round but every bit helps. We are having a big raffle at the break with 'loadsa' prizes. If you are interested in coming along – make sure and let me know so I can get your name down.
Thanks a mil
James
This really is a great night!
So if you can come and or donate a cornie this is yer only list!
1. Will_D: Cornie of cider or two, help run the bar, No Poker! Plus a Mrs D

2. CARA +1
I had a great time last year and made the final table as a bonus :) I think i drank all Wills cider too-it was AMAZING!!
Christ.. this is a great idea. Fly the NHC pop-up banner next to the cornies ;)
What's the legal side of this?
It's classed as a "home game" in a private residence so all above board
Had a poke around this morning-I've a pin(20L cask) of a smoked rye pale ale I could donate?
Any pins for sale cara
James. Seems as I have an enpty corny of urs staring at me every time I open my storehouse, all nice and sanitised ill bang some english ale into it. Because my real ale weekend wiped all my session stock I may not be able to fill to the lid but Ill find at least 20 pints or thereabouts and hopefully get a full one .
Theres no guarantee I can get to the event so If any northsiders are passing on the dublin-cork road please let me know if u can drop a corny to partrige in malahide for the event

3. Brenmurph: donate an english ale as promised at the christmas party, but yis never reminded me >:( to brew specially for it
@Bren - Sorry about the notice Bren - Im going to take Friday off to setup so I could knock out your direction to pick it up.
If anyone is driving by to get it closer that would be great as well.
Even if its only half full - that's grand. Its great to have variety.
@Cara - That would be greatly appreciated !
I'll probably bring a cornie of a brown ale with me.
Now ... what about refrigeration? Do you have enough space to keep em cold?
Also, do you need any extra picnic taps for the day?
Great questions !
Unfortunately I only have kegerator room to cool 2 cornies. I can chill two more with buckets of Ice.
So probably best if you get your cornie to about 4C and bring it with you - I can wrap it when you arrive.
If you have a spare set of disconnects that would be great (we will label them straight away so they dont get mixed up).
I have one picnic tap / three taps (with flow control) and Will_Ds Stout tap - so five on the go.
I can push your keg out with Nitro if its at 8 PSI, if its 10-15PSI - we will serve it on CO2.
Alternatively if you get it the way you like it with a picnic tap (at your place)
- we could just serve it that way ... which might be the easiest ;)
Thanks
James
Ok, in that case I'll bring a bucket or two, picnic tap and some ice as well.
Wet towels around the cornies will help keep them cool too.
I only have one tap running at the moment so have 2 spare if you need them + 1 picnic. Can get you as much ice as you need on the day if you call up to me in work.
My kegs will be chilled and I will bring the two line cooler over as requested.
If you need LARGE amounts of ice we have an ice machine in the club!
I'll be in work all that day so will arrange to get keg and lines over beforehand. Can do a bit of dismantle and give you co2 splitters if needed as well.
Thanks Nigel !
@ Will - Yea - they 2 line chiller would be great - forgot about that !!
Do you still need picnic taps/buckets and ice then?

I want to add them to the beer menu - so you will see your beer in lights (well on a big blackboard!)

A single hop ale with a fairly new hop varietal. Intense floral and pleasant mint tones. This ale is also dry hopped. 4.5% abv.
Tiny The Elder is my summer beer. Its a 3.7 % pale ale hopped with Columbus , Amarillo, Galaxy and Simcoe :)
A session beer for full of hipster hops.
Bog standard session bitter, light, quaffable serve just a little colder than room temp. No chiller requured. As i hadnt got a full keg of a single ale i sent u a blend. 3.4%
Just as well ye're bringing some light stuff.
One of my ciders has been declared as being 7.2% >:D
And thats got "Lite" in its name"

The Bog by The Bren !!
Standard Session Bitter - 3.4% (will use beer engine!)
Did a fair bit with Will on this today.
We have two taps/kegs in a kegerator ready to go
We have one more tap and a Nitro tap hoked up to a chiller.
We need two more taps with the bits and 2 lengths of beer line and two gas line (can you do all that Nigel ?)
So when we are done we will have 2 kegs/taps on the left with their own gas
One nitro tap on nitro
then three taps in the middle for standard stuff with two through an inline chiller
and finally a beer engine.
2 / 1 / 3 / 1 - if that makes sense.
We have three spare Gas outlets to accommodate triple taps in the middle
Need to sort out the blackboard !
Not a bother. You'll have to collect because I think someone spiked my water with an IPA. ::)
Grandpa's Brown - 5.2% Caramelly, chocolaty Northern English Brown Ale with some hop aromas hidden in a background.
Just vented the cask, will tap at 5am before work. Smells like a Japanese referee robbing the fresh eyes of a continental virgin on a twice failed by.engine problemed north sea tug vessel
Interesting aroma alright - I have had that with the south china sea - rather than the north sea !
How we are looking ..
