Hey guys,
There are 5 BeerSmith (http://beersmith.com/) vouchers which have been allocated for the 5 highest scoring kits. The reason they are being aimed at the kit brewers as they are the most likely not using software yet but might be at some point in the future as their thirst for brewing develops. ;)
Not everyone wrote "Kit" on their bottles so I was hoping people could post their highest scoring kit here and give a little bit of information as to what you did to make the brew. It doesn't matter whether it was a hacked kit or conventional kit.
Sample:
Shiny - Coopers Ginger beer - 21 - (No special technique, just a normal kit)
Paul - coopers stout -28- added half can of treacle and 2 carb drops per bottle
Paul - coopers lager - 30 - left to ferment in for about a month, 2 carb drops per bottle.
ColinC - American Pale Ale - 25 - Coopers Australian Pale Ale hacked kit
ColinC - Northern English Brown Ale - 35 - Coopers Dark Ale hacket kit
Have a look here for more info:

Just to make sorting the numbers easier it would be great to keep them all together and in order.

A nod to Paddy Bubbles as this evening was his v recipe that I need as part of a 3 simultaneous brewing demo in Tog for the capital Brewers.
Dissolve 500g light spraymalt in a saucepan containing about 2 litres of water
Add 25g of Cascade and simmer for 10 minutes or so
Boil kettle
Add another 500g spraymalt to FV and strain the hoppy liquid into the FV also
Add the kit contents and swirl with boiled water from the kettle to get all the goodness out
Top-up fermenter to 21 litres
Pitch yeast and ferment with the US-05
Dry-hop in primary with another 25g of Cascade
Nod to tube put four litres of hot water in to fv and add a few table spoon of vwp and close the lid and stand back and b let the man shake it three or four minutes.
Suggestion was to steep 200 grams of CaraMalt or other light crystal and this would improve it no end.

There was noting seedy about it, the man-cave is a perfectly innocent place ;D
I've installed Beersmith now and have been playing with it.
It's a serious bit of kit! So many functions and i've barely scraped the surface yet.
I love it, thank you all :)
Presenting to Eoin...
QuotePresenting to Eoin...
Brilliant picture, and nothing seedy about the cave, maybe just some of the people in it! Congratulations Eoin!

Eoin congrats, finally get to see what you look like I was half expecting bat features based on the hours you work ;), next time I meet you in FW first pints on me.

I'm putting names to faces here too. Might be worth having our own "Know your brewer" thread like the "know your nerds" thread they have on boards.
