Have you ever tried cooling wort to 70-80C and then steeping hops?

No, I generally just chuck then in as is switch off, going on at just boiling can give assurance to kill that may be hanging around

Have you made this before??
How would you describe its taste, is there a commercial beer
That it compares too?

I am working on reformatting these recipes into a common format - with some blurb around how they are made by the brewer

The grits is standard for my American browns, I do play around hop additions

Not sure about commercial examples, not in lreland any way

QuoteI've moved this here as it's a #brewday recipe.

Tell us how it tastes when it's done and if you think it's mega bloody awesome copy the recipe into Best Recipes.

:)

Have yet to try it from the keg, should do this weekend  :)

If your not happy with this yeast, what style of recipe would best suit that yeast.

I have done quite a number of smoked porters with this yeast, turned to nice

I also suspect that it may have been old yeast, should have check the best before
