Today's brew, loosely based on one of Nigel_C's recipes.

OG: 1.055
IBU: 58
ABV: 5.2%

Maris Otter 3kg
Wheat Malt 1kg
Oats 0.5kg
Carafa III 0.5kg
Vienna 0.5kg
Amber Malt 0.5kg
Black Malt (added to sparge) 0.3kg
Chocolate Malt 0.2kg

Pilgrim (11%AA) 30g @ 60
Centennial (10%AA) 20g @ 30
Centennial (10%AA) 20g @ 10
Amarillo (8.5%) 20g @ 2

Yeast: Gervin (notty)

Update: This turned out quite nice for me.

It scored 34/50 in the Monochrome comp. Both judges pretty much gave the same opinion on the beer; nice mouthfeel, nice roasty, coffee notes but too much hops for the style. I added 25g of Centennial as a dry hop so I'd probably leave that out if brewing again.
One judge also mentioned slight astringency, which is probably just a fermentation issue.

Good result. I love this beer. I have a keg of it that I'm doing my best to forget about till Christmas. Its my house stout now after a few tweaks over 3 or 4 batches.
