Venue: Tog, Chancery Lane, Dublin 8 (www.tog.ie)
Cost: Free (Donations will be accepted, by tog or the capital brewers)
Format:
Brewing - All Grain, possibly Extract and a Kit
Beers - I'll be bringing a few of mine, hopefully others can bring theirs
Building - Has anyone got anything they might like to build during the event (ie a stir-plate perhaps)?
Kick off at 10:30 (finishes around 4.30 depending on the complexity of the brew's), see you there! If the weather is good that weekend we can plan out the logistics for a full barbecue for breakfast and lunch. We can see about that closer to the time.

11th July, is this on a Friday?
Sorry yeah its the 12th, I will edit the OP when I'm at a computer.
Alright lads, I'm a new member here but long time homebrewer. Just wondering how this works? Do we bring all our own stuff? Is it multiple brews?
Hey! Welcome to the forum!
We normally agree here who is going to brew on the day. We have had two electric brews going simultaneously in TOG and there are two sets of newly installed outdoor double sockets. If I'm brewing I bring my own equipment as I know what to expect in terms of temperature drops and dead space. I have given a loan of the mashtun to some of the lads on more than one occasion as once the mash is done its free for others to use if they want.
Personally I try to get in early to get the water heated and mash on but up until now that hasn't suited many people that would have been on the beer the night before. We are trying a Saturday to address that.
You are more than welcome to come and brew! If there are unusual ingredients or equipment that you want to use its good to suggest it here and someone can bring it on the day such as water treatment stuff, oxygen, yeast, etc...

Haven't been to one of the days before so would like to just turn up to see how it goes. If someone would like some assistance with an all grain that would be fantastic, I'll happily chip in for ingredients too. Or just help with the BBQ :)

Not sure I can bring equipment, but I can bring a mash kit if someone else has the equipment to brew it. I'll also be filming for the podcast.

Hi Paul you are welcome to come along, there might be a few TOG members there also. I won't be able to do all the things I listed out so I could definitely use a hand! Will bring a couple of beers with me for tasting also. If Ronan is at this one make sure to bring your water to have it tested for hardness.

05. Hingo (Beers: My 1st All Grain: Irish Stout & 2nd all grain: 90min continuously hopped IPA) - the Peanut butter Red isn't quite ready yet - I'll bring this to the next meetup
Also, I may have left coupla bits there last time - stock pot lid and a wooden box with demijohn bungs / small Dial thermometer & for other bits in it. Anyone there since see them?
Hmmm, I was last to leave and I don't remember seeing any of those things. If they were left in TOG they will definitely still be there somewhere.
Found the box, never mind! The pot will turn up I'm sure, may have left it in ciarans car in the morning as never used it on the day. (Don't use it either way)

a slant will keep for a long time in the fridge, looking about a year timeframe. but you do need to do a 2 - 3 step starter with it so will need to be able to do 10ml/100ml/1l starters.
Just used it in a brew yesterday so should be able to pull off some slurry fri/sat if thats more useful
Hey got a PM from someone on boards about this site so decided to join, would it ok to pop down and ask loads of questions sanz a beer?
Yup! By all means drop in, doesn't matter if you don't have any beer with you. We usually start on time so we would be mashing in not long after 10.30.

Ah the slant will do the job, the starters will give me something to do during the week before a brew day

Cheers Ciaran btw
I'm up for the weekend so I'll pop in and show my face, be nice to see you all!
also need to decide the next meetup, it's going to be affected by garthgate, so would either be on tue 22nd or wed 30th (views on other days welcome too)
anyone not going to be at tog can send me a message about it between now and the weekend
Put up more info about the brewday on the TOG website (http://www.tog.ie/) also so there might be a few members around checking out the brewing.
Ronan could you bring your water testing stuff along please?
yea i'll have it
since shiny is bringing the imperial porter i'll bring something else, have something i was considering entering into one of the upcoming comps.
I'll be along with a friend new to homebrew whom I imagine will join Capital brewers.

We will see what happens with the weather re the BBQ, I also have to confirm that there is enough gas, if there isn't we can get more anyway.
Wifi password for TOG is on the blackboard in the main classroom beside the window.
Also don't forget to bring a sample of your brewing water if you want ronan to test it.

See you at summerfest!!
Shane how long does that cider kit take to ferment etc? Thinkin I might get one for the Craic. Also I have some of that insulation wrap from making my mash tun left over, ya want some for your boiler? I can bring some along next week to the meetup
No idea, I was going to leave it for two weeks and then bottle. Im not going to bother insulating the boiler as im going to be selling it soon. New equipment on the way. :)
