Hi all,
I was given a Coopers Ginger Beer kit as part of a Christmas present, so I made it a while back. I had a bottle a about a month ago and it was sweet and pretty cloudy. The rest of the batch are also still cloudy.
My question is, does anyone know if it clears like normal beers do; or is it a cloudy drink?
On more familiar territory, I have a Craft Range IPA and a Youngs American IPA Craft Beer kit to choose between putting on in the morning. Anyone know anything about them? OR is one viewed as superior?
Cheers!
Tonight I'll be drinking Muntons Connoisseur Range Continental Lager and Thomas Coopers Pilsner...
Don't know about the youngs but the craft spa is topnotch
I was inspired by the extensive Craft IPA review in another thread so that's in the FV now.
Next up will be my Christmas brew so the Youngs AIPA will have to wait a while...
nice one. the craft range IPA is supposed to be a good one alright, with plenty of dryhop included.
the ginger beer is lieky to stay cloudy and sweet. It's the only coopers kit that has sweetener added.
Made mine about 3 weeks ago (ginger beer), and it's still as cloudy as ever. Haven't bottled it yet, was waiting to see if it cleared any further.
But I might just bottle it tonight, if you've had yours for a month and it's still cloudy!
You could try a bit of pectolase to clear it up, but if it's already bottled might be a lot of hassle to re-cap all of your bottles.
On a side note though, it tastes AMAZING. Would give Ginger Joe a run for its money!
To be honest I'm not gone on it, but it is a fantastic base for dark'n'stormies so I'll put it to very good use nonetheless!
I'm not sure I'd have bought it myself but that's half the fun of random presents.
After the weekend, I have to say I'm warming to the Ginger beer - and I've had some very positive feedback from the people I gave some to; so maybe I'll be doing it again...
I tried to post a pic of yesterday's glass; but the file was too big... if I manage to compress, I'll stick it up - it looked quite like when you drop ice cream into club orange or lemon!
