Title: Building a copper manifold
Post by: Saruman (Reuben Gray) on July 25, 2014, 11:11:38 AM
I don't know enough about plumbing to know if this is correct.

Would I be right in saying that a half inch pipe like this (http://plumbingproducts.ie/product.php?id_product=3708).

Will work with 15mm endpieces like this (http://plumbingproducts.ie/product.php?id_product=656).

As in just push in. No soldering.

1/2" pipe is the inside measurement so the compression fitting is 15mm. I know its confusing >:D

Grand, just want to make sure.

Do those prices look ok actually? They seem pretty decent to me.

Do you have flux and a small blow torch for assembling these. Not your normal kitchen stuff for people to carry ::)

Sorry reread your post, you are making a mash tun manifold so clipping together is all you are doing :-[

Inside your mashtun the only sealed pipe you need in your tun is to the lowest point
Manifold joints do not need seals.
Example below needs red section sealed for syphon.

Essentially you want to draw from the lowest point.

I found that a slight squeeze with a pliers to the ends make them fit more tightly into the joints but are still removable.  It makes up for the slight difference in measurements that lads are talking about above.
