Title: Advice to a homebrewer Italian
Post by: keto8 on July 31, 2014, 12:45:28 PM
Hello everyone, I am writing from Rome and as you are a fan of craft beer.
One of my favorite styles is undoubtedly the Indian Pale ale, and for some time I'm developing my own recipe.
I would like to create a very traditional beer, I do not like the changes that in recent years have given the beer with yeast and or American hops Slovenian or even Japanese.

I ask you then what are the malts to use, hops and yeast best recommended for a real traditional English IPA.

Thank you very much.

if you can't get those yeasts, then try Danstar Nottingham dry yeast. Should be fine :)

Look for a clone recipe of Fuller's IPA (also known as Bengal Lancer). Excellent English ipa

In Italy I checked and there is no manufacturer that this yeast.
After I get it online? "Burton Ale (White Labs #WLP023)"
however, in my recipe that I'm taking to the tradition ipa I put these malts:

Pale
Maris Otter
Crystal 80L about 2%
CaraVienna about 4%
Carapils about 4%
Chocolate (0.5%)

Advice about it? maybe raise some malt for preferring another.
thanks .

If you email white labs they might be able to tell you where you can get the liquid yeast closer to you.
