Title: Rainy Day Brewing
Post by: donnchadhc on August 02, 2014, 11:32:54 PM
Moved to a new place which means I'll be brewing outside. How do ye guys deal with the rain, Gazebo?

I got a gazebo for it but I can't imagine it'd stand up to too much rain. You'd still want a decent forecast.

Gazebo is a great job, but leave it out and the wind will see this in your neighbors garden with broken stuff in between.

If it's boiling nothing. If it's cooling, stick an umbrella over the pot and stand inside the shed. High tech to the last!

I generally just have a miserable time and make a mess of all the indoor floors when it's raining. Both snow and hail have been unintentional additions to the boil in some beers.

...and you're a medal winner!

I'm adding Rain and Snow to my recipes straight away.

Badly! It's a nightmare dragging the kettle into the shed. Out of the last 5 times I brewed it rained 3 times.
I use a big garden umbrella and leave the shed door open. Messy

We moved into our new house last year. It's got a second kitchen upstairs from when it was converted into two units, so I have a nice modern brew room all to myself as a result. Best. Mancave. Ever.

Is snow allowed under Reinheitsgebot?
