Title: RDS Homebrew Samples - wanna participate ?
Post by: Partridge9 on August 04, 2014, 09:01:01 PM
We have been given permission to give similar samples to last year - Those small plastic sample glasses that Will got us  !

If you brewed last year and fancy doing it again - please get brewing !

We need about 5 kegs corny kegs (19l). This is to give a sample to someone who you are talking to about homebrew.

It worked well last year but we need to be careful it isnt abused - so no homebrew into glasses - just the sample plastics.

Anyways if you fancy donating a keg - please reply- also handy if you are about when its on - as people will probably be interested to talk to the brewer.

I suppose we need to max this at 6 for the moment.

James

Well - that depends on what day you are attending - Basically you bring the Corny in with you !

The festival runs from Thursday 4th to the Sunday 7th September 2014.

But the main action is Friday night and Saturday from 4pm.

I will try to find the thread and bump it up.

We really need to step up to this oportunity to recruit more brewers!

Absolutely -  do you have someone who can bring it in on the day and take the empty away ??

Try not to leave kegs overnight - we cant take responsibility for them.

Is dere room on table for 30 ltr oak cask?
Title: Re: RDS Homebrew Samples - wanna participate ?
Post by: Partridge9 on September 04, 2014, 10:39:55 AM
We can make room !! If needs be we can setup a smaller side table or the like.

Can it be dispensed normally ? We have two lines setup with disconnects / taps / inline chillers for cornie kegs

Our plan was to bring the oak cask on handpump filled with a blend of an English IPA and our bos red ale. Been tasting and blending all week deciding on which 2x cornies to fill de cask. The cask is significant vanilla hint in the finish with a great malty ale using our home grown target. We want to bring a beer that reflects nhc best brewer quality and we believe the above fits de bill. The cask will draw a lot of attention to the stand as shud de handpump.

Sorry to answer can it be dispensed normally.. Yes from its own brass tap however the beer deserves a great head which the handpump and sparkler will do with small samples. Dropping a small sample by gravity may not work. Serving oak cask via standard beer tap may not marry well with an oak cask ale

Well Feel free to bring all the associated bits !
We have space on the stand - might have to shuffle things around a bit

Great stuff
