Title: IPA fest / 25th Oct 2014 - REGISTER ON THE OTHER THREAD!

You are cordially invited to the IPA Fest in Galway on Saturday 25th October 2014.

This IPA homebrew competition is open to everyone.

BJCP categories:

14A English IPA,
14B American IPA,
14C Imperial/Double IPA
23A (catch all for everything else like Black, White, Red, Rye, Belgian, NZ, Brett, Historical IPA / session , standard & double strengths allowed)

3 euro per beer entry / 02 x 500ml bottles per entry.  Your name, category/beer style & ABV to be included with each entry.

We are working on sponsors currently & hope to have some super prizes. Awards for 1,2 & 3 in each category & of course your chance to be crowned King/Queen of IPA for the BOS winner.

Drop points announced over the coming weeks aswell as other details. They will be announced on this thread & on twitter @galwaybrewers

Its a bit shitty to lump they all in together in 23 but we cant have separate categories for every variation. Maybe in 2050 haha

Its a bit bad to lump they all in together in 23 but we cant have separate categories for every variation. Maybe in 2050 haha

You could judge them altogether as long as some guidelines are used instead of separating them out but whatever works for you is really the key.

B surprised if this wasnt well supported as 25% ( open to correction) of the nationals entries wer ipas. Id guess therll b 40- 50 entries.

Can one enter this if they can't make it to the event and how does one get the entries to the competition?

There will be drop points announced in the coming weeks. You bring your entries to the nearest one & the beer gets brought to Galway for the comp. They'll be put in cold storage in the hop room at GBB until the competition.

We wanted a private venue with natural light & no time restrictions. Oslo is dark, always jammers at the weekend & shows sports on the big screen etc so its not a good venue for this competition.

Any idea what the deadline will be for beers to be brought to the drop off points? Just trying to get an idea how long i can delay brewing an entry for this.

If some one has a 330ml entry they wont be turned away. It would be great if people made the effort to use 500ml bottles.
