Title: GCB Red Ale 3rd Place

Hi THere,
THis was a nice easy drinking Red, and result was up there at 38 ;p Here's the recipe

30 l Tesco Ashback Water
2.45 kg Pale Malt, Maris Otter (5.9 EBC) Grain       57.8 %
0.23 kg Biscuit Malt (45.3 EBC) Grain          5.3 %
0.23 kg Carapils (Briess) (3.0 EBC) Grain        5.3 %
0.23 kg Munich Malt (17.7 EBC) Grain           5.3 %
0.11 kg Chocolate Malt (1060.0 EBC) Grain        2.7 %
1.00 kg Light Dry Extract (15.8 EBC) Dry Extract     23.5 %
28.35 g Willamette [4.00 %] - Boil 60.0 min Hop     14.5 IBUs
25.00 g Fuggles(Pellet) [7.90 %] - Boil 60.0 min Hop     25.2 IBUs


1.0 pkg American Ale V (WLP051) Yeast


OG 1.052
FG 1.010


Process:
Threw the grain into my Rubbermaid mash tun, added 20L for a 68c MASH...(forgot to take a PH reading 5 min in)
Hour later, Sprage 10L @ 72c over the Grain into my 50L Boilpot..(About 26L in the boilpot)

Boiled for an hour....18.5L into the Fermentor
Fermented at 20c

2 weeks later, put it in the Keg at 7c for 2 months...

Results here: Interesting tip to add the dark grains during the sparge, gonna try that on the next batch
