Title: Bloody children
Post by: bigvalen on August 31, 2014, 10:34:14 PM
I had the garage door open earlier, cleaning out a fermenter after racking. Two of the kids snuck into the garage, I thought to grab a bike.

Six hours later, I realise my carboys no longer have the airlock tops. I have a few spare, but...dammit. No idea what the kids did with them.

I'm not too worried about the meads, but I had a Belgian ale just starting a conditioning. I quickly threw together 50g of candy sugar, made a syrup, and threw it in. Reckon its enough to stave off oxidation?

A layer of Co2 should be on the top anyways - unless they were blowing into them !

Couple of hours bottle washing as a punishment, plus make them smell some butyric infected beer will make sure they don't do it again!

Only joking. Ignore negative behaviour and all that.
