He told me he doesn't take out the central dip tube. Does that make a difference?
if the tube is still in it they you are taking the liquid co2 from the bottom. it can block the regulator. having the extinguisher upside down would prevent this.
the standard lever valves are not ideal either. having a screw valve is better
IF there is a dip tube then you just turn the gas bottle upside down!
Simples!
If there is a FireEx handle/valve then fit a nut and bolt so you can crack open the valve in the upside down mowd.
Some people just use a plastic tie wrap, slide it one way and the valve cracks open, slide back and its shut off!
