Title: Copper chiller in for full boil duration?
Post by: Dr Jacoby on September 21, 2014, 10:05:25 PM
Is there any reason not to leave a copper chiller in your boil vessel for the full duration of the boil?

Shouldn't be a problem, if your chiller line is full you will lose some heat to this, if empty and not connected, you might have got 'spits' from your flow and return connectors.

the copper should give some extra nutrient, and it might reduce the risk of boilover
