I know about Capital Brewers, and I'll be joining them on Tuesday in WJK, however I didn't see anything specifically Northside - there is South Dublin and North County.
I'm looking for something to encompass Finglas, Santry, Glasnevin, Ballymun, Beamount, Artane, Coolock, Donaghmede.
Basically anything D5, 11, 13, 17, anyone got any interest in forming a group?
Take 41, 41C and meet us in Swords. It will take you 15 minutes to get there from Santry :P
I live in Finglas!
In that area myself as well, but in two minds if it warrants another club. Most public transport leads via city centre, so when your that close to town, just going to capital brewers seems to make more sense. Plus wjk is a north side pub anyway :)
If there are 2 or 3 coming from Finglas prob just as easy and cheep to split a taxi to swords.

I remember the same question was asked before we established the "South Dublin" group. The fact is that most of the SD regulars don't want the hassle of going all the way into town for the Capital Brewers meets. Probably the same reason a brewer in Finglas doesn't want to lug bottles of beer all the way to Swords.
It's just a matter of logistics. We wanted something "local" and the reason it's been as successful as it has is because the monthly meets are in a handy location for our regulars. If the OP wants to establish a new club in the north of the city, and if there's sufficient interest, I think he should be encouraged to do so.
Absolutely. Same way the Meath lads have just it. Put out some feelers and gauge interest. If it's a flyer good stuff. If it's not sure you know where to find the NCB.
That's a fair point alright. Well if it's any help, I know there's about 3 of us in the Raheny area, a few in Drumcondra and the some more further afield in Sutton and Malahide. I'm not sure where would suit for a meet location for those though. Coolock? love pump and Bull have a craft pub there and opening one in Raheny.
EDIT: C O C K and bull got turned into love pump :DDD I have been duly entertained :D

Tight t-shirts, whips and craft beer :)
Yeah I'd probably be more likely to make it to something in Raheny than Swords
Raheny Club it is so, five mins walk from my flat, slightly more convenient than WJ K's. What shall we call it? I vote for Barrytown Brewers.
I'm all for it, I'm an exhausting 8 minutes away. :)
How about north side shipping centre brewers. I believe all the native dubs already have a jingle and all prepared ;)
Just don't have the meet up on same as the NCB and I could prob swing by as well.
Barrytown brewers is magic. At least until the split
I'd be up for this ... but only if we could get some Barrytown Wheelies Brewers jackets like Colm Meaney's! :P
Has this thread actually reached list making time? :)

You know, at 5, we actually have half a chance of having an odd meet up if somebody got a venue to agree...
hahaha, yes the C O C K and B U L L is newly opened. Popped my head in at the weekend - they did a nice job doing it up and had plenty of patrons. I think someone with the gift of the gab should go in and see if they can get a table. I'm not known for my sweet talking ability ;)
I really can't see them entertaining us. It's always buys. Even on a random Tuesday night it's pretty packed.
There's the Cedars in St. Assams as well - a real old man pub. Imagining it would be pretty quiet midweek in there, but again, not sure if it's a place that would want homebrewers around.
Foxfield Park. Did the job years ago. ;)
Does anyone fancy an inaugural meeting of Barrytown Brewers in the love pump and Bull this week? No homebrew or booking in advance, just going for a pint.
Going to ncb tomorrow so might be pushing it with two in one week. Next week maybe? Be nice to have a midweek pint in a local :)
I like the look of a Northside Dublin brewing club if there's room? I'm located in Beaumont.

I'd be around for a pint next week!
been thinking about possible venues for egular meets/tastings if the Cock & Bull wasn't a runner ... what about Harry Byrnes down the Clontarf end of the Howth Rd.?

??!! .. actually, no - it's grand the way it is, am not going to even bother trying to change it
We can discuss it all a pints if we get everyone there. Someone pick a date nd let's make a meet!
Would any Rahenyites mind calling over to my gaff next week and give two of my kegs a squirt of CO2. I've just run out, and want to upgrade my system in the new year (I currently use widget world), so not planning on buying a refill. There'll be beer...
Yeah there should be enough still in my tank to pressurise them :) I can imagine the looks as I wander around with a CO2 cannister :D
I take it those widget things just use a standard quick disconnect? That's all I have on my regulator...
I'm out of gas as well so if anyone is heading Bray way for refills would appreciate a shout.
