Was thinking about throwing some rum into one. Anyone tried this? Any other ideas?
I think someone put some rum essence in a stout a few months back. Not sure how they got on.
I have an anti idea. I put some choc mint essense in a coopers chocolate stout a while back. Oh so very minty and not so chocolatey!
minty stout sounds.... emm.. delicious? (http://www.sherv.net/cm/emoticons/sick/barfing.gif)
Mistakes were made ;)
Last stout I done I put cocoa and cold brewed coffee into it, turned out damn good

This sounds interesting. Not a fan of coffee, but so long as the coffee taste wasn't overpowering, I'd like to hear more. :)
I'll pass on the mint suggestion all the same. ;) ;)
The coffee was very subtle, only thing was, if I had a few at night I didn't sleep Great . Not so sure if that was the caffeine or not
the last odd thing I put into a stout was a load of crushed up roast monkeynuts.
I loved it, everyone else didn't

Sounds to me something more suited to a brown ale. :)
