Just did this brew today, got the recipe from Cooper Home Brew Site
Steeped 200g of Carapils Grains as per adive in the Kit Hacking Thread on this site.
Brought the above solution to the boil.
Inserted 25g of Cascade and 25g of Amarillo Hops in the just boiled water for 30mins.
Threw 1kg of Light Spray malt into the fermenting bucket.
Threw the infusion of hops and carapils grain into the fermenter.
Gave it a good stir.
Mixed in a tin of Coopers Australian Pale Ale.
Brought the bucket up to 21 litres.
Pitched Mangrove Jack's MP44 US West Coast yeast in at 23-24degrees.
The SG is 1.044
The fruit salad recipe is nice (when amarillo's available)
The 30 minute boil will make it more bitter than intended and with most of the aroma and flavor boiled out, but it'll still be a nice beer.
I presume that you removed the grain before boiling, right?
I did remove the grain before boiling.
Your guide to kit hacking is great.
Very clear, simple and concise.
Glad it was of assistance :)
Decided to Dry hop this today to add a bit of nose.
Had a sneaky sip just to get an idea of the final taste, not bad.
From my readings I should have a Final Alcohol content a little over 4.2%.
nice and sessionable :)
