After talking enough about it over the past few months it is time to get the ball rolling on our first ever conference to be held next year in April/May.
I'm looking for a group to work on this. I have a few people interested in helping so far but if you would like to get involved, whether you have experience or not, drop me a PM.
It might help if you can give us a rough idea of what you are propossing.!
What is a HB Conference?
This is the first I've heard of a HomeBrew Conference...
*runs away* >:D

I think thats what this group of people is going to make happen
Take a look at what they do over in the great big U S of A (http://www.ahaconference.org/)
Should be handy enough :P
Well I can't really get anywhere to meetings or anything but if you need posters, websites or any other designy stuff I'd be happy to help. Oh and if you need QC on the beer I'm good for that too. O0

What is a HB Conference?
A one day event, to start with, consisting of talks & lectures, tastings & chat from homebrewers and professionals aimed at educating homebrew enthusiasts.

Hi Rossa
I would be really interested in helping you set up that conference! I work big hours but i am off on Sundays and Mondays ("Monday" being now renamed "Brewday".. Lol).
If you need any help, feel free to contact me. I am originally from France and still have a good few contacts back home in microbreweries and even a brewing school (IFBM Qualtech - Nancy) if you want to open it to a more European level.
Thanks
NormanBrew

Nice one Norman.
I have been thinking of looking outside Ireland too.
Once it's not during the Easter holidays, then you can count me in also

Thanks Rory. I think Saturday 25th April might be about right. After Easter and before people start heading away again.
I'm here if I can do anything, is it worth meeting up somewhere suitable to put plans together or you thinking setting up a sub forum?

Both might be a good idea David. I'll try get something together this week.
As I said, you can count me in as well! I am always off Sundays and Mondays if you want to meet up!
I'm up to my neck this week but I'll try organise something next week.
Count me in as well. Not sure if the club has mass email marketing capabilities, but I have an account with campaign monitor that I can tailor and use for this if needed. Will need to work with a design person on the email though. And anything else you need from a marketing perspective. I hope this is helpful.
I'll talk to my friend who's a graphic designer, see if he wants to help (and if he has got time for it). What about a coffee /beer this Sunday to just exchange ideas and start laying them down?
Quote from: NormanBrew on October 16, 2014, 09:39:29 AMWhat about a coffee..... ?
???
That's the kind of talk that gets members tarred and feathered...
;) ;) ;) ;D
Coffee stout, missed a word there... Lol
That's more like it!! 8)
So guys, do you want to meet up in some pub tomorrow to try organising the first steps of this conference and the roles we are gonna play in it?
I'm up for this as well.
Norman - your right - we need to meet up asap.
Town? Somewhere central
What about the porterhouse temple bar tonight?
20h?
I can't tonight. Sometime during the week, but Wednesday for me?
Is there a sub forum for this yet?
If you can't, what about tomorrow? Other than that i can't I'll be working...
