Title: HBC extract stout
Post by: danger_zone on October 12, 2014, 06:01:21 PM
Brewed a HBC extract stout Friday night. I roasted about 350g of chestnuts, peeled them then added them to my grains and steeped it along with 350g of rolls oats. It made for a pretty big muslin bag which I guess is where I made my first mistake.my pot is only a 3lr pot so naturally when I put the bag in there was some overflow but I only realised when I was pouring the wort into my boiler that there was actually bugger all left in the pot.oh well we live and learn.

I did end up with an o.g. reading of 1040 though and there's lots of activity happening in the fermenter
