Title: O'Shea's Golden Ale
Post by: Parky on October 14, 2014, 08:35:07 PM
Popped into Aldi recently to stock up on some wine for the Mrs (fears of an increase in tax in the budget!), and came across O'Shea's Golden Ale. I'd tried the Pale Ale and the Red Ale before and liked them both, so decided to give this one a go - and it's not bad at all.

Nice light amber colour with a sweet biscuity flavour, some bittering on the finish, and nicely hopped too. Not sure what hops were in there  (fuggles, maybe?), but a very enjoyable pint indeed. Reminds me of an English bitter (but that's just me), but at 4.1% abv it's one I'll be trying again as a session beer :)

I had a bottle last Friday myself. Thought it was one of the blandest ales i have ever tasted

I'm a big fan of their red and pale ales. Haven't seen this one in my local aldi yet. Looking forward to it now :)
