I have this roller mill (http://www.the-home-brew-shop.co.uk/acatalog/The-Roller-Mill.html#a496990) which I'm very happy with but I'd love to hook it up to a drill to save my arms. However I'm afraid I'm going to sheer off the groove and make the mill unusable.
I've had a good look for Youtube tutorials and I've used the search function here and on other forums but they don't focus on my concerns.
The arm on the mill where the handle gets attached is mostly circular with a small notch.

Can I tighten the drill straight onto the notched arm or should I be using some other middle connecting bit? If so what?
Should I be trying to run the drill at the lowest speed setting? I have 2 drills. 1 is a Black and Decker Hammer drill, the other is a cordless Aldi drill. I think I can control the speed better on the Aldi one. Is that preferable?
Is it better to run the drill as slow as possible or on a faster setting?
That looks very similar to the mill I got from HBW. Just put the shaft into the drill's chuck and tighten it up. You won't damage the shaft or the notch.
I use an electric drill myself, at full speed. I find that my cordless drill goes dead quiet quickly. Some say that slower is better? I'm happy with the crush I get at full speed.
Cheers. You gave me the confidence to go and do it and it worked great. Really satisfying watching 4kg getting crushed in seconds.
Knocked out a brew in less than 4 hours.
