Soooo. I kegged a DIPA a while back and force carbed it. Got a nice new shiny beer gun and went to use it to enter it in the Galway competition .... All good so far. However it seems I used two gas out posts when kegging so the liquid discount won't attach! Idiot. So with a fully carbed keg am I facing a gusser to switch out the wrong gas post for the liquid post. Obviously i'll release all the gas through the blow off valve first. What's the best way to deal with this mess???? Help!!
Can you replace the liquid disconnect on your beer gun with a spare gas disconnect?
i would just de pressurize change out as best you can, at high abv it will be pretty robust (not get contaminated to easily) , you will have it back under pressure in a few minutes it will not degas all in one go so no harm done id say.
You should be ok swapping out the post!
Go for it, as quick as u can. As u say, vent off and change.
If the beer is chilled right down u shouldn't lose much carbonation.

Thanks guys - looks like the keg came with two gas posts cause I have no other posts so will try pick one up tomorrow and update on this mess ....
As you carbbed it up you must have a grey gas disconnect. Just fit that to your beer gun and away you go!

I did try that but it didn't work so I assumed the Gray one was somehow restricted to gas - must have an issue in how I put the simple beer gun together .....
You can force a black disconnect onto a gas post in a push. It's not good for the black disconnect though and I'd recommend taking the keg outside when removing the black disconnect
I put my disconnects on the wrong posts all the time. Nothing bad happens.

Should have read this before changing up the posts in the kitchen! Lovely smell of IPA on everything even after cleaning them down. Good news is it worked (for some reason using the grey disconnect wouldn't) but think it'looks be the morning before it settles back down enough to bottle them for the competition - will drop to Kev or brewery in the morning.
