Title: DIY stir plate
Post by: DCLavs on October 23, 2014, 03:29:36 PM
Hello,I'm making up a DIY stir plate and hoping someone can answer a question I have about the current/power needed for the fan.

The fan states 'current/voltage 0.16A 12v'...the 12v I get but I'm not sure about 0.16A...is this 1600mA?

160mA, which is what the fan consumes under normal load. Note: with magnets, a stir bar and a litre or two or wort to drive it will consume quite a bit more. Maybe 0.5A.

Could you suggest a power adapter please?...would a 12v 1000mAh be ok or better to go for a 1500mAh?

Grand job.Have plenty of old chargers laying about that would fit the bill...cheers Dube.
