Title: water additions
Post by: Beerbuddha on October 23, 2014, 09:56:44 PM
Why is so difficult to find water additions.

Allot people add minerals to water and there are plenty of homebrew shops yet none sell additions that we need.

How hard is it to get 25 kg bag of a mineral and split it into small manageable packs for our convenience and profit for a shop.

Gypsum
Epsom salt
Canning salt
Baking soda
Calcium chloride
Chalk
Pickling lime
Magnesium chloride

There are only a few and they ain't gonna change.

I have the some but why don't shops have them all instead of having to go to builder providers.....Tesco....eBay ect and even then not guaranteed u get the correct minerals like canning salt for example not all salt the same some have iodine which is toxic to yeast.

To sum it up I want to buy the proper mineral......food safe ......all of them from my Irish homebrew store.
