Title: Oats mash temp/time
Post by: Gugs44 on October 28, 2014, 12:09:07 PM
How goes it fellas?? Doing a HBC olgas Irish stout today but adding oats for some nice silky texture and plus I enjoy breakfast stouts, will b adding coffee to secondary

As this is my first time using oats I'm just wondering do they need a longer mash time or will I just go with the 60min @ 67, I've done a lager mash before @65 for 90mins

Cheers

I've used them a few times but I always mash for 75-90mins anyway
