Title: Get er brewed mash kits.
Post by: googoomuck on November 14, 2014, 09:27:25 AM
Has any one tried any of these? Thinking of trying the witbier or the Belfast blonde. http://geterbrewed.ie/#/category/405

Done the Mad Cow Stout and Triple Tipple (Belgian Ale) and can't hit the expected numbers doing BIAB.

Wonder is it my technique (only these two done BIAB) or something with the kits?

Are they your first biab? Going to pop my biab cherry with one.

Yep, first two.
There's Hoppy APA waiting in line :)

It'll be interesting to see is it only me having issues getting the numbers as listed.

Getting the exact numbers from an AG kit will always be tricky. Different set ups will always have different efficiencies. And I don't BIAB but isn't it generally less efficient than all grain with a sparge? How far off were you?

I'd really recommend just scrapping the kits, get beersmith, get your set up dialled in and order your stuff for whatever recipe you want. Beersmith has BIAB presets too. Its all so easy.
