hi all - ive had a nice stout fermenting for the past 2 weeks in my hotpress ( where its a constant 20 degrees ) i was fairly happy it had finished fermenting as there was no action from the airlock - no hurry .... however a few days ago i placed a newly made brew in the same small hotpress to ferment and .... i think my original brew is slowly fermenting again as there is some slow action with the airlock
is it possible that the second brew has contaminated the first and if it has what can i do ??
That seems very unlikely. Is your first beer bubbling often?
It was getting excited at the prospect of having a companion.
It's probably ok. Taste it to be sure. If it tastes ok check the gravity over 2 or 3 days.
Once gravity says it's over, bottle or keg it.
Thanks lads
First brew is very slowly bubbling - maybe every 2/3 mins. Will do as advised and chech the fg over next few days
Thanks v much
Did you move the first fermenter when you were putting the new one beside it? Could have just roused the yeast.
Sound like you just may have shaken the yeast up when you moved it. Let it sit a bit and activity should stop.
