Title: Lidl Radiator Reflector Foil
Post by: Rory85 on December 18, 2014, 03:27:44 AM
Seen this on their website http://www.lidl.ie/en/Offers.htm?action=showDetail&id=18022 (http://www.lidl.ie/en/Offers.htm?action=showDetail&id=18022)

Wondering if anyone knows if it would be any good for insulating a HLT or Boil Kettle?

Not very durable.

A foam camping camping mat might be better.

Myself, I use a John Roccha wollen Hoodie

I picked some up with the same idea, but it's very thin, and when I opened it out, I found it's expanded polystyrene (I assumed it was a more durable \ flexible foam). Haven't stuck it on to the kettle yet, but I imagine I'll be putting the lagging jacket back over it.

If you are using a Immersion Chiller, have something that you can readily remove to aid in the cool down.

Thanks for the replies guys.  I might pick up a roll as its quite cheap.  It will hopefully be for an electric HLT and BK and I plan on chilling with a plate heat exchanger.
