Title: Coopers Wheat Beer FG
Post by: brianbrewed on December 18, 2014, 06:04:48 PM
Hi all.
Brewed up a coopers wheat beer almost 2 weeks ago using 1kg of Wheat DME and Mangrove Jack's Bavarian Wheat Beer Yeast.
It seems to have stopped fermenting at a FG of 1.020.
This seems a little high to me.
Has this happened to anyone else brewing this beer and are there any remedies for it?

I'd normally brew with WB06 so I'm not familiar with the mangrove jack wheat yeast
their site say medium attenuation, ferment at 18-30C
if you fermented at the lower end, with the wheat malt 1.016FG would be a happy place for me, i wouldn't worry about 1.020 if it had all the signs of being finished :)

I'll take another hydrometer reading tomorrow to be sure, to be sure.
Had a taste of the sample and it has a nice 'banana' like taste.
Not a million miles away from Paulaner.
