Hi All,
The Mottly Brew have kindly agreed to host a brew day for us. The have a great set up there and can give us the upstairs part of the shop which has some couches and all the equipment and water supplies needed for BIAB. I said Ill bring my mash tun along as well.
They have a great range of 30odd crushed grains that they can crush on site for us. Their hop selection isnt the best but i can bring a bunch of my own. Lots of obvious advantages with brewing here, no need to lug loads of equipment to and from the place and all the ingredients we need are right there.
I also think its a great way of teaching passing customers about homebrew and getting them to sign up to the NHC.
If anyone wishes to brew on the day they are free to do so, ill put on a brew if no one else wants to.
Date: 24/1/15 10am start
Location: The Mottly Brew, 106 Lagan Road, Dublin Industrial Estate, Glasnevin, D11.
Free to bring homebrew too ;)

I'd go but I'm down for the talk on the Sunday as well, so I think it'd be stretching the beer nerd allowance for one weekend. A lovely offer by mottly though. If it happens again I'll happily do a brew.
So what would be the set up for the day? Could you turn up, buy or bring grain crush, mash and boil? Would you just have to bring your own bag, hops and grain?
Any way you want. But it off him and get it freshly ground there or bring your own. Sometimes the hop selection is poor enough but if someone wants to make their beer and be the head brewer for the day maybe post up a recipe and we will see exactly whats needed. All the equipment will be there.
How many brews can we fit at a time? I'll be doing one this Saturday regardless so if there's room I'll drive up and do it there :)
There is quite a bit of space up there. I don't see any problem in doing two if you want to bring extra equipment although ill double check that

Might come down to how many boilers you can plug in at the same time. A few of us brewed in the same house before and we had to run leads from different circuits.
This is a great idea! I have a party the night before which has a bit of an open bar, but I will try and pop over if the hangover subsides enough..
Good point. Maybe we should stick to doing one brew for this day. So paul you want to brew your beer then so?

Yeah I dropped him an email to see if he has some stuff in stock, otherwise I'll order it elsewhere today:
* Rye malt
* Carafa special III
* 30L fermenter with lid and bung (preferably without tap)
Update: He seems to have everything I need so good to go :)
will pop down too. might not stay till the end cause i also want to do a brew sat too
What's the schedule for this so? I'd love to try brewing with better kit and to see if I can get tips to make it easier.

start at 10am, go through a full all grain brew, 4/5hr. refreshments provided and taste some homebrews throughout.
I'll call by tomorrow, be good to get some education :P
But don't think I'll be able to stay full duration.
Be good for Intros also.
Good brew day today. Thanks for Ian and Paul for hosting and brewing respectively.
Looks like we are on for another brewday on Saturday February 21st
Great day and The Mottley Brew is a class spot. Time to pitch yeast :)
Much Appreciate the education today, Thanks guys.
Catch you on Tuesday.
Also dunkels exbeeriment with the chill vs no chill was brill. Still think it was down the altered hop schedules than chilling method but they were nice beers regardless!
