Title: Help!
Post by: MisterBurns on February 01, 2015, 03:18:33 PM
I stuck on a Craft Range IPA yesterday around 3pm and have it stored at a steady 20C. I rehydrated the yeast at 24C and pitched at 21C. Now 24 hrs later, not a peep out of the airlock and no sign of life at all. I have some spare S-04 and thinking of pitching or I could wait till tomorrow and buy another Craft Range IPA yeast to re pitch ...... guessing I'm in trouble either way with infection risk...

It can see you checking and it's getting stage fright. :)
There's still time I'd say... Would want to go soon though.  No signs at all at all on the surface?  Is your lid clipped on tight?

Pitched the S -04 so hopefully it'll kick off and not suffer badly from the false start ......

I made that kit a while ago,  took 2 days for any meaningful activity,  I would say if it's sealed and your holding the temp at 20 you will be ok

Damn too late. Never had more than a 12 hour wait other than fresh apple juice cider ..... is 48 hours regular for kits?

It'll be grand.  I had the same thing last week using Mangrove Jacks West coast yeast.  It took 48 hours to get going and is still bubbling away a week later

i'd only ever get worries after 48 hours. usually kicking the temp up a few degrees for a small while kicks things into action :)
