Title: Finings
Post by: Nibrewer on February 13, 2015, 10:25:10 PM
Hi group.

I have just racked my apple and orange wine and added the finings to clear. It seems to have done its job ok with whatever sediment no laying at the bottom of my demi jon. Being new to the brewing culture I have to ask is there anything else that I have to add before bottling ?

This was my first attempt at brewing from scratch and not a kit.

if the finings have done their job then bottle away.
I like to rack to a clean demijohn for bottling so that i don't kick up all the gunk

Thanks, is there anything else I need to add to give it a shelf life ? It looks more like cider than wine mind you.

On Monday I intend to put it into a different Demi Jon and de gas it would that be ok to do that. I am dying to taste it but as I say I am on nights and not finished until Monday morning then it's party time in the afternoon.
