They sell on ebay but its as costly for shipping as it is for the paddle ???
Genius
This is their ebay page

They combine shipping for multiple orders which really helps. Would there be any interest in a group buy?

Would definitely take one!
I'd be interested, definitely if the shipping costs are split.
Honestly I'd probably go for one of their cheaper versions of it. I wouldn't need the ultimate version haha
Just a warning that taxes might bite us in the arse a bit if a group buy goes ahead. I could always contact them and get them to send it as a gift if that might work?

Do you think a number of the same product would be sent as a gift? Also the gift rule is up to a given value, like something over 50 is considered taxable I think

What about

??
Not as big and fancy as the ss one but might work and costs just €1.95. Using it and drill to mix my mash and getting nice vortex.
So think that should also work on wort with hops.
I'll ship you a free sample of this:
http://www.homebrewwest.ie/paddle--degasser-for-drill-20-inch-4052-p.asp (http://www.homebrewwest.ie/paddle--degasser-for-drill-20-inch-4052-p.asp)
with your next order. Just email us to ask for it.
Its hard to see from the pic, but it has a drill fitting at the end instead of a handle so it won't slip.
I think a wider paddle would work better compared to the longer tapered one in that pic though?
It's the drill that's doing the work, not the paddle. I use a plastic degasser with a drill and you can aerate the wort until the foam is coming out the top of the FV. It gives you just as good a vortex that yerman has in the video above.
I'm sure the stainless one is better but it's definitely not worth the extra money when a plastic paddle is so cheap.
The perforated edges of the stainless paddle look a little rough too. Imagine that spinning at ~1000RPM inside a plastic FV. You'd probably cut a hole in the FV?
It's not for aerating,
It's used in the boil kettle to whirlpool and pull all the gunk to the centre.
Yes, the vortex gives you the whirlpool. As I said, the vortex I get is just as good as the vortex in the video above.

Do you use the paddle HBW linked or do you just jam a regular paddle into the drill and away you go?
It's a normal paddle, like the one Jacob shows in the pic above.
Edit; I did have to file the end of the paddle down to fit the chuck of my drill. My drill only goes up to ø10. The one that HBW have looks like this is already done.
Hmm I might have to try that so. I liked the idea of having a sweet ass mash paddle that whirlpools as well.
And we'd love to see what you make of this paddle. Lets say until next Sunday night, if you order anything from us, we will add one for free. But you must pop us an email so that the packers know to add it.
All I ask is that you post up how well it works. Or not!
Just getting an order together and I'll be brewing a flanders red next week so I'll definitely let you know!

Would something like this not do the same job? I've seen them in a few sizes.
It would but 10 bob vs €2 (or free) from HBW for basically the same job.
I bought one of these for degassing wine and now use it to aerate too. I'm gonna try it and compare to my paddle for whirlpooling

It should, but wouldn't use it with beer. Usually they are painted or made from non food grade materials.
