Title: Gas setup
Post by: rukkus on February 16, 2015, 08:52:53 PM
I'm fairly close to my first brew on my new rig. i'll be using 2 gas burners to power the hlt and the boiler on propane. Both are 70l pots.

The burners are 1 x 7.5 kw and 1 x 8.8kw. I have 2 x 1.5 kg regulators and 2 small propane tanks. Should i move up to 1 x 4kg regulator and split the line to one tank to keep a backup or should i stick with two tanks and the smaller regs. Thoughts? Going with electricity is not an option before everyone goes there :p

I spoke to the guys in Hamilton gas today and they said the performance on the two burners from the 4kg regulator would be better so I'm thinking of going with that and upgrading the patio gas cylinders i have.

Whatever you do, don't buy these ones: (http://www.gasproducts.ie/acatalog/ha118k.jpg)

They break far too easily. Ballbearings and springs everywhere.
