Title: new wines
Post by: Nibrewer on February 28, 2015, 01:15:32 PM
Hi guys and gals,

Just put two new wines down today, carrot and carrot and parsnip. I have never tasted ether, has anyone had the pleasure?  There is 1 kg of sugar and 2lbs of carrots for the first one and 1 kg sugar, 500 gms parsnips g or the second. I must say it's a experiment.

I once made a dry sherry from parsnips according to C J J Berry.

It took a while but was well worth it in the end. He gives 2 recipes The one I made was the "light" as opposed to th Oloroso.
I kept meaning to set up a Solera system but never got round to it!

Now there's a thought. Sherry not sure if I could cope with that if it was too sweet, mind you an extra string to my bow.
