Title: Swing top bottles or loan of a capper in about ten days? - dublin / wicklow
Post by: oinkely on March 03, 2015, 04:52:19 PM
Hi All,
I'm new around here and have completed one all grain batch from True Batch Brew.  I bought 20 flip top bottles for that and used 7 when bottling.  Have since stepped back to a Craft Ragne IPA kit and it's fermenting away now.  I'm guessing I'll need about 45 bottles for that, so am about 30 short.

It will need to be bottled in ten days so was checking if anyona has any flip tops they want to move on or would have a lend of a capper?  I'm living north wicklow and working south dublin so anywhere around would suit.

If you do lend me a capper I can leave the cost of it with you until I return it - just can't afford to buy one right now.

Cheers All

I have one of these http://www.homebrewwest.ie/twin-lever-capper-black-338-p.asp (http://www.homebrewwest.ie/twin-lever-capper-black-338-p.asp) if you are stuck?
I could probably give you some 500ml brown bottles (not swingtops) too, I'm sure I've got a few spares here.

I live in Bray.

There'll be plenty of bottles to take home after the homebrew competition this Saturday if you're gonna be near Alfie Byrne's in Dublin city centre.

Like Fishjam45, I'll have some 500ml brown bottles aswell if you need (also Bray).

If you're around on Thurs 19th, Garden County Brewers are meeting in Hollands, Bray from 8pm.

@fishjam - many thanks for the offer, I might take you up on it next week. I will knock into one fo the local pubs here in Kilcoole and see if I can get a few bottles so.  PS it was your review of the Craft IPA kit that sold me on it.

@pob - If I can't rustle up enough bottles I'll be in touch, many thanks.  I'll add the 19th to the diary and see if I can manage to get along.  My wife bought me the all grain kit in Hollands so it would be nice to pop in and check out what else they have!

@irish_goat - that might be a bridge too far, Saturday is usually family day having been in work all week and not sure I would be allowed bring the kids along ;-)

Thanks for the offers and help everyone.

Got the capper from Fishjam on Saturday and have the batch all sitting pretty in bottles now.  Hoping ot make it along to Holland's on Thursday to return the capper and meet the Garden County Brewers.
