Title: Hello from Limerick
Post by: Keg on March 05, 2015, 04:29:45 PM
Hi All,
I've been following the forum for a month or so looking for advice and after talking to the good people at the NHC stand at Alltech fair last weekend have decided it's time to get involved!!

From Galway but based in Limerick.  I've done two kit brews so far to date,  the first one was the coopers lager from Homebrew West and the second (just finished) was the Craft Range IPA.

Planning on giving all grain brewing a shot next using a red ale recipe I found here.  I've all the ingredients ready, but just need to sort out some more equipment and get started.

Thanks Oh Crap & GlasbrewInc!  I have a plastic 40L fermenting bucket with tap and airlock attachment, some of the other badics like muslin bag, bottle filler, hydrometer, bottle washer,  capper etc.  I also have a very old Rotokeg which was donated to me and hopefully is still suitable for use.  Oh,  and a whole lot of glass and ox bar bottles ready to be filled.

Welcome, also from Limerick/Clare on the border, newbie too, my first batch a coopers IPA so interested to see how your Craft IPA comes out, have the Craft Blonde to do next, but I finished the coopers and since I'd washed and sanisted all my stuff I thru on a Bulldog Bad Cat Red straight away, its kind of addictive, already planning what I'll be doing next to stash for dare I say the word christmas  >:D

Cheers RobShamrock, good to hear from some local homebrewers .  At least you're planning ahead anyway, it's easy to get carried away, I have loads of ideas of what I'd like to brew in future (APA, Belgian Dubbel, Porter) but I figure I better concentrate on getting the Red ale right first.  Just tried the IPA last night,  to be honest it tastes like a wheat beer so I might have messed that up somewhere along the way!

Good stuff, that should be great to have for Xmas,  keep us posted!  They've been in the bottle for two weeks now,  one week in the hot press and another week in the cold.  It's tough to be patient with them,  you need to have a supply to tidy you over till then.

Probably a bit soon for it, from my recent reading a month at a minimum, hard to resist though

Lads, get your asses up to Lucas Bar Ennis for Paddys, beer fest and brew demo (only a kit, but it will be me doing it!)
